Perhaps this should have been posted to an actual story thread, then?

Just a procedural note:  This comment should have been posted directly to the story's discussion thread: Potential Discussion Thread

Thank you

Hi, I have been following your 2 long running stories on another site and now here. Your posts here are current and not censored. I find both of these stories to be interesting and enjoy following them. I confess, you have me hooked. I want to say how much I appreciate your efforts. Writing anything is not easy. Keeping two different story lines running concurrently has to be a challenge. I am looking forward to your next chapter(s) of Potential. Thank you again for sharing your stories with us.

Ain't that the truth. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from readers. I wish I could post more often to give people more opportunities to comment, but life takes up so much time.

I'm not actually writing both of those. Writing Potential now, but only cleaning up My Neighbor's Incest. Although, that has proven to be a lot more work than I expected. At first I was just fixing errors that Grammarly and Google docs picked up. Then I realized how horrible my early work was, and started making a few changes when I saw something that was hard to follow. At one point while proofreading I was confused about what was going on, and I wrote the story, so I had to fix it up.

Greetings Bistander

I have written but not yet submitted a few stories that I would call fictional. Like yours they draw from real people and events in my life with actual names, locations, dates changed.

I'm writing here because something in your bio struck a nerve. Like you Ethel grew up with a severe learning disability (dyslexia) that went completely untreated. It is something that changed the course of our lives.

We hope all is better than good with you and look forward to reading your work.

Hello and thank you for reaching out.

Stories drawn from and based on actual events along with writing what you know make the best stuff. I hope you'll get some stuff written and posted.

I agree, it does change the course of our lives. That might sound drastic, but it is true. I could write a book on all the way feeling stupid and trying to hide it or compensate for not being able to spell and read has fucked up my life. I'm grateful after so many years I took a stab at writing. I'm a great storyteller, but the effort required to get it out pushes me to the brink of giving up often. Technology has helped. Things like Grammarly, even though you can't expect it to be correct, catch enough stuff and gives educational help when it finds something it thinks is wrong.

Good luck you you

Just FYI, there is a forum thread specific to this story, where this should have been posted.

Like that would be bad enough to satisfy everybody's need for retribution?

Thank you for taking the time to let me know you're reading and enjoying my work.

I think this comment would be better in the Potential section next time.

Have a great day

Perhaps if there were large nails sticking out of the stairs, with a hungry alligator waiting at the bottom?

A heartfelt THANK YOU to you!  smile

On the other site (no I don't mention it here since you can't point directly to The Mystic Wolf Pub there anymore neither) when I was searching chapter 6 of your story 'Potential' you directed your readers to a less censored place and I am grateful for this. Without your direction The Mystic Wolf Pub had stayed a mystery to me. I never came across it before.

Thank you again and good luck to you!

Just curious, what is the nature of the policy that forbids mentioning The Pub there?  (Obviously, I don't go there... not even sure where there is, actually.  smile )

That's the rule, you can't provide a link to another site. I'm pretty sure in a public area like my profile page I've been dinged just for mentioning that someone should go to wolfpub. But in the comments section of the stories, I have gotten away  with spelling out the name without the dots or www

Guess they didn't feel that censoring the stories was enough censorship for them.

Have you checked out mydarkside here at Wolfpub? I know her from another site where the rules kept her dark side in. I sent her here and enjoy that side of her a lot.

Yes, the name 'mydarkside' got me curious while scrolling through the list of authors and I took a look into the short stories. Fairly fast I noticed these kind of stories are not for me. Only elaborated long stories let me take a walk through fantasy land. After reading your question I tried 'Daddy Is He Hurting Her?' but was repelled by violence against the very young - that's not for me.
There is still a lot to discover here but at the moment 'Potential' consumes the most of the time I have to indulge in my fantasies.

About the Bistander:
I grew up with a severe learning disability that went untreated, so I avoided reading and writing as much as possible. Then one day, I thought, maybe I should write a story? That was about when I created My Neighbor's Incest. It was supposed to be a two chapter short story. People asked for more, so I went on.

I realized pretty quickly that I had a lot to learn. There's a limit to how much I can do. I hope you won't hold any of that against me, nor will you excuse poor writing. I welcome your feedback.

About my stories:
Mostly I write fictional stories, but they often draw from real people and events. All names, locations and time-lines are changed to protect the guilty.
