War has come to Callamandia, and David Stroud is caught right in the middle of it. Conscripted to a scout company in the Callamandian Army, he is forced to leave his friends and family behind to go and face down the invading enemy from the north.

The problem for David isn't the Vrudenans, however. It might just be David himself. Can he control his dark side, or will he lose himself in the lust for vengeance on those who have caused him so much pain?

I love this story. This is my 5th time reading it now and damn if I couldn't do another 8 books. Hope your muses can assist my addiction for this world you've created.

Erm... Glad you enjoyed the series...

Don't think I have another 8 books worth of plots in me... at least not about this set of characters.  But the Dugerraverse will definitely be back in some form.  I already have two book outlines for different Dugerraverse novels.

Chapter 13 is devastatingly sad. Had me in tears several times.

Normally I would say that I'm glad you enjoyed the story, but... not sure if that's appropriate...  smile

So...  I'm glad you connected with the story...

Maybe I should have added more in my comments so here goes.
Loved all 8 books in the Woodward Academy Series. Slow start but soon had me hooked by the end of book 1.
Loved the humor in the naming of some characters..."Eisenpatton"...these gave me a good chuckle.
These books also made my cry in portions. Death of characters you grow fond of is always hard.
I hope you continue to write.

Well, I'm glad you liked it as a whole, then.

As to the slow start, I kind of felt like he shouldn't be tasked with taking down major bad guys before he even had any real training.

(Not saying that some other, much more famous, books-long book series about wizards in training did that, or anything...  0smile )

I'm lost, how is she greedy? Her dad was wealthy and she could have easily taken over the company if that was her passion. Instead, she married a COP. We all know how little cop's make.

What do you have to support that she is greedy?

I think he's probably referring more to greedy on a personal level, the whole thing with her relationship with David.

But I could be wrong.

Even then, I still don't agree. From what I recall she was more or less dependent on him on an emotional level after her husband died(completely blanking on his name), and that quickly transitioned into a love relationship and anything on that level tends to be 'greedy', you want your partner and want as much of them as possible.

I'm glad you enjoyed the series.  Hopefully something else of my writing will also catch your interest, since the Dugerraverse is hibernating for the moment.

I'm glad you enjoy them.  I should probably consider working on one of the two other Dugerraverse novels I have planned... though neither of them have anything to do with David or Woodward Academy.

I know it's not really your normal aspect of writing, but i'd be interested in reading something from the non human side of it. Somebody that of course goes against the normal flow of their society, elf, dwarf or maybe even go further to the land of the giants if you want to keep the MC a human in a very different environment.

I have a question I do not believe was addressed here previously. Let me start off by saying I understand you are the master of the story so my normal gotcha questions exist only as limp noodles. That said, in Book 8 when David and the gang are fighting demons, uh, where exactly did the demons come from? In this world, there is no Hell. Many philosophies believe that Demons were spawned in Hell to torture the poor souls who ate meat on Friday. According to the most common account among ancient Jews and Christians, demons were the postmortem spirits of long-deceased primordial giants, who had come about thanks to the illicit union between fallen angels and mortal women. Again, this took place in Hell and since there is no Hell here, I again ask, where did the demons come from?

I look forward to being schooled with your response. Thanks!

I thought it was stated in the last book quite a few times that demons are another type of fairy. Please correct me if I’m wrong Eric Storm, the demons that David and everyone were fighting are ultimately the fairy equivalent of the fae. Right?

Timberwolf is correct:  In the Dugerraverse, a demon is just a specific class of fairy.  And this was stated at least once or twice over the course of the books.

If you cannot, or do not wish to, use PayPal, but you still want to make a donation, you can use one of the methods below:

Why Donate?

You may be wondering why you should bother donating to some guy on the internet that you don't know.

I'm not going to lie: I don't really need donations to keep the site running. The site costs me less than $20 a month. Though donation money does go to pay those bills, the primary need is elsewhere.

I am disabled, and live on a fixed income. I also own an old house that is beginning to have "issues". The appliances inside the home also seem to want to break frequently.

On top of that, I live in a place prone to hurricanes, which not only means worrying about the house falling down every summer, I have to worry about being able to handle evacuations and things like that.

The point is, the donations aren't for the site. They're to keep me fed, clothed, and housed, and also allow me a little bit of discretionary spending, instead of having to watch every dime to make sure I don't go over budget that month.

So What Do I Get for Donating?

Not a goddamned thing. Let me be crystal clear: Making a donation does not entitle you to anything at all. Donations are a gift, not a payment for a service or product.

That being said, I do like to say thank you to those who support me. I usually do that by granting special access to the website. What does "special access" mean? Well, not a whole lot, but it means you have extra file formats to download stories in, and it also gives you access to "PRM" content.

What is PRM content? PRM stands for "Pre-Release Material". It is stuff that you are allowed to read before it goes public. How long before it goes public is up to each author that chooses to participate in the PRM system.

In conclusion, if you want to help keep me funded and happy, please make a donation by your preferred method of those listed above.

And thank you in advance.
