I have to be honest, your skills are pretty awesome. I can't begin to imagine how you managed to do that design.

Yeah, don't be too impressed.  It's all about knowing how to use Photoshop, and its built-in tools.  And 3/4 of the work had already been done for the school logo, anyway.

But I'm glad you like the design.

It is a wand, just as described in the book... and just as appears in the school's logo, though in a different place.  You can be forgiven the confusion, because in profile, a dagger and a wand can look a lot alike.
