Word has come to King Talon of Sorathale that the witch Thereya, Queen of the Shadow World, has joined forces with the Demon Master and plans to overthrow his kingdom. Having seen and heard of the might of these two enemies, Talon musters the army to defend the land against them.
Yet he believes Sorathale lacks the strength to repel these invaders. He must find a way to defeat the demons before they destroy all that he loves. He gambles on enlisting the aid of the fallen goddess Lauralle, not knowing whether she can help or not.
Then he learns some disturbing news. He is destined to slay the Demon Master, but at the cost of his own life!
