Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Guess I need to dive into Calibre's manual a little more.  Nice to know the different ways people are using that piece of software.  For now, I'll do the cut and paste into Word before using Calibre to do a final conversion.  It's just the way I'm comfortable for now, with the program.

Besides the story I'm writing for myself, I'm doing in Word and I'm comfortable with several of the Office programs I use fairly regularly.  I just like to do my reviewing while on my Kindle so I can be away from the place I write.  That seems to put me into a slightly different frame of mind and I can take notes on what needs to be reviewed, changed or corrected.  At least that works for me.

Nice to hear you plan on releasing full e-books down the road.  I think that will be a great addition to PRM if not available to everybody, eventually.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

ha, i freely admit to being a B5 fanatic, can't wait for the movie (they say might be made.  change of subject.  i know you pretty much dealt with david and his parents but are they going to be brought back into the story?  i could see one of David's enemies doing something to them and he having to save them.  Either way this is one of my favorite stories and i can't wait till the end of every month.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Have I ever revealed plot concepts ahead of time?  I will say that there is nothing within the story world to prevent it.  On the other hand, there's little to make an enemy think of David's parents as a good target, since he hasn't seen them since becoming a wizard.

Eric Storm

PS:  A B5 movie?  I hadn't heard that... and I imagine it would suck badly.  Given that Michael O'Hare, Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas, and Jeff Conaway have all passed away... how would they make a movie about the station that didn't contain at least one or two of these characters?  Replacing them with different actors is a sure recipe for disaster.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Very much enjoying the story. I read most of it back to back and now wait for each installment like everyone else:-)

What about a glossary of characters? I was reading the latest chapter and it took me awhile to remember who Penny was. Like the calendar of events, just a quick reference to see the name and how they relate to the story or to David.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

For most of the characters, there is one in book 1.  Obviously it won't cover characters introduced since then, but most of the primary characters are there.

1. Please do not post the same message multiple times.  I deleted your two duplicates.

2. If I wanted you to know the answers to this questions, I'd have put those answers in the book.  This is information that I don't want you to have yet.

Eric Storm

PS:  You'd better HOPE that I don't need a description of my major characters to know who you're talking about...  Especially with a name like "Olissa".

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Islandman79#,

It's not that she can't (at least as far as we've been told).  It's that she WON'T.  Now, she has told him that she won't be romantically involved with him, we just don't know why.  We all have our own experiences telling us that she is in love with him just like he is with her, but David has com to accept and TOLERATE the status quo.  I woul be surprised if next month's installment didn't hav some expansion on what is going on with her, at least as a lead in to the summer of Year 6 since it seems that most of the external Olissa stuff is handled in the summers.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Well, you can't possibly have posted "just once", as there have been at least three different variants on your question.  As to being asleep at 7:13... unless you live in England, that wasn't when the item was posted.

And, to reiterate: If I wanted you to know either of those things at this point, you would have read it in the books.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Riun:

Sorry that I missed your question.

What you're asking is similar to, "What happens if I put the garage in the house?"  Answer:  You can't.  David's Conjuring Room is "attached" to him.  It moves when he moves.  To try to put himself into it is an impossibility, as it would move to remain in position relative to him.  Since the dimension he's trying to conjure into is no longer there, the conjure would fail, and nothing would happen.

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

Could I ask if there is possibility of David being called back to earth to interact with previous people from school or that arranged his death . Or interact with family / maybe more than a quick couple of riffs, he is a great investigator of problems an that would be kinda kool

Re: Woodward Academy, Year 5, The

The story starts with him graduating high school, that would put him around age 18 plus or minus a few months (since he's a U.S. citizen).  He becomes a demighost the night of his graduation according to the story which freezes his physical age at that point.  However, he's now had 5 years of wizard college (at least for those of us that have paid for PRM access) and I believe he stated he was 22 fairly early in year 5.  I don't remember any birthday celebrations for David in any of the stories, I think Flo is the only one that has had a surprise birthday party thrown for her, but a specific day of the month wasn't mentioned.  So, we don't know David's birth date.  I think Olissa's birth month may have been given away when David gave her a birthday present, but don't ask me the month for Flo or Olissa's birthday because I honestly don't remember what chapter they were in.

David will have been a demighost roughly 5 years at the end of the Year 5 book.

Remember the first girl he had sex with as a demighost ? What do you think if she had a kid who was displaying magic n David was introduced to her because they thought he was the dad ?

Separately I wish the store stated how many Demi ghosts existed an if they could all meet - like maybe at kings behest.

How many people has David had deported to earth? What if they all got together to get back at David thru his parents ?

Questions if they are removed of license to do magic n deported to earth - that's after they serve jail time in callamedia? And how do they prevent unlicensed people in earth from doing magic??
