Why Help?

The only reason to offer your talent to the site is because you believe in its mission of supporting a community-based creative arts site. The Pub is not just about grabbing what you want and going. It's about finding new people to talk with, enjoying the company of those on the site, and of course, finding great stories to read and images to look at.

Having said that, Eric cannot run this site alone. Not if you want it to be as great as he would like it to become. There's simply too much work for one individual. And, as you know, the number of contributors is limited by the number of webmasters. So, if you want to see more contributors on the site, you'll need to find someone who can help run the place.

Positions That Need Filling

Head Webmaster - Main Site

Eric's vision means that he would always be in the middle of Research & Development. It's hard to do that if you're always dealing with what's already been managed. Also, Eric envisions a broadband version of the site, which would be his primary focus when it's built, thus the need for someone to look after the "normal" version of the site.

Head Webmaster - Accessibility

Webmaster in charge of creating and maintaining a version of the website designed specifically for people with accessibility needs.

Associate Forum Administrators

The purpose of the AFA is to pay attention to the forum threads and report any breeches in the forum rules to the Head Forum Administrator.

Chat Room Operators

Someone who visits the chat room regularly and makes sure that the rules are obeyed. This is a position of trust: you will need to be known well to some or all of the site administration before you will be allowed to take on this duty.

Flash Programmer

In the planned broadband version of the site, Adobe Flash would be the medium of choice. If you are versed in this medium, your help would be welcome.

Please note: unless this site starts making millions, none of these positions will ever be paid. Since the site will never be a pay site, it is unlikely it will ever make millions. Be warned that your only reward for working here will be Eric's gratitude, and the knowledge of a job well done. Oh, and all admins will have a say in what happens with the site...
