Your production level with the quality you write is absolutely bonkers!

Anyway, I'm charmed by this story and excited to see what's next. Personally I think Pete is getting Let-the-right-one-in'ed otherwise he's an insane person. Anyway looking forward to Pete's adventures, or Pete slowly withering to dust, either way I'm here for it.

Thanks, I'm a huge nerd. Didn't have an outlet for a long time, so the production will eventually slow down a bit. ;-) Wish I had this much stamina for my publishable work.

I thought about killing ol' Pete off immediately, but decided he deserved a shot, so we'll see how he bucks up.

I think that the issue with publishable work is that Editors and the marketing types want mass appeal and are bound by societal norms and therefore restraints.

I consulted with a writer a while ago on a field of expertise I have which led down a rabbit hole she wasnt prepared for and when she wrote with authenticity and proudly showed me the raw edit which was brilliant but sadly unpublishable and nearly killed the project because she felt she couldnt do the subject matter justice if she softened it.

She understood what she had written was moving her in a new direction and a higher plane for her character but didnt know how to preserve the character and still make it palatable for publishing.

What we did to overcome that was a deep dive into my subject matter so she could see and fully understand the characters option and pivot with compromise she could live with eventually writing 2 different version of the same story which she presented to the Publisher knowing which one would be published lol

Her main editor was then also deeply conflicted which appeased her no end about the version choice AND I got a thank you in the published work :-)

Depending on what you write im sure there will be crossover you can work with because theres some truly inspired with of yours I've enjoyed... Unless of course you write technical manuals lol

Well, I know almost exactly that feeling, Glad you found this place as an outlet for writing about all the (possibly) desert succubae sex monsters in your head. And I'm glad I get to read about it.

She's been around. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go straight horror monster, or if I'm going to try to humanize her a little. I guess we'll see.

(What I'm most proud of this week is that I feel like each story has kind of a different tone. They're all clearly mine, but not exactly the same feeling. At least, that's the hope.)

There is, I feel a sense of You in all of the stories.
There seems to be a personal touch in the writing and maybe its because im Ancient myself and I play the stories in my head as I read which is quite easy with your work painting the pictures in my mind :-)
