did she look at the iLife wheelchair? it's the one that was made by the creator of The Segway uses the same balancing tech but even better since it can do stuff like go atv balance on 2 wheels to bring you to what would be your standing height and it can even climb stairs.

The Segway was developed latter as a way to make a commercially viable product and recoup development costs of the gyro since the FDA dragged there feet on approving the iLife for like a decade.

It suddenly occurs to me that I retained a shitload of info on this after seeing a demonstration of it 5 years before the Segway came out
