Sorry for the horrible font choice. I was going for something old english-y. Might not have been the best choice. sad

What a terrible format.  Too hard to read.  Gave me a head ache just trying to read the first paragraph.  It may be a good story, but as it is right now I will not be reading it.  A good writer uses a font that works for the majority of possible readers, This author decided not to .  Good luck.

Yeah. I realized that. Was trying something new. I reverted back to Times New Roman. Sorry for the headache.

I’m very curious to where this is going. So far seems very familiar but that could be the fantasy aspect of it.

Only complaints I can see are abrupt transitions between time periods, the random narrative aspect that seems to be going as if this was written from a 3rd person overseeing everything after the fact.

Story line itself is okay otherwise and I look forward to reading more.

I'd just like to point out that a "good writer", that is a professional writer...

Doesn't choose fonts.  That's the job of the typesetter, a process that is completely out of the hands of the author, and an entirely different skill set.  There is absolutely no reason to expect an author - good, bad, or indifferent - to know anything about typesetting.

Of course, if the web designer would get off his ass and finish version 2.0 of this site, this wouldn't have been an issue, because ver. 2.0 has enforced typesetting (that is, the style of the text in stories is mandated by the site, not the author.)  But that hasn't happened yet, and Guardians know if it ever will.

Transitions between time periods... I wanted to make sure I had my bases covered with something aside from the stereotypical "--" to delineate a change in time. The perspective is something I hope to make clearer as the story goes on (key word being hope).

If you cannot, or do not wish to, use PayPal, but you still want to make a donation, you can use one of the methods below:

Why Donate?

You may be wondering why you should bother donating to some guy on the internet that you don't know.

I'm not going to lie: I don't really need donations to keep the site running. The site costs me less than $20 a month. Though donation money does go to pay those bills, the primary need is elsewhere.

I am disabled, and live on a fixed income. I also own an old house that is beginning to have "issues". The appliances inside the home also seem to want to break frequently.

On top of that, I live in a place prone to hurricanes, which not only means worrying about the house falling down every summer, I have to worry about being able to handle evacuations and things like that.

The point is, the donations aren't for the site. They're to keep me fed, clothed, and housed, and also allow me a little bit of discretionary spending, instead of having to watch every dime to make sure I don't go over budget that month.

So What Do I Get for Donating?

Not a goddamned thing. Let me be crystal clear: Making a donation does not entitle you to anything at all. Donations are a gift, not a payment for a service or product.

That being said, I do like to say thank you to those who support me. I usually do that by granting special access to the website. What does "special access" mean? Well, not a whole lot, but it means you have extra file formats to download stories in, and it also gives you access to "PRM" content.

What is PRM content? PRM stands for "Pre-Release Material". It is stuff that you are allowed to read before it goes public. How long before it goes public is up to each author that chooses to participate in the PRM system.

In conclusion, if you want to help keep me funded and happy, please make a donation by your preferred method of those listed above.

And thank you in advance.
