Yes, this is absolutely on my mind every day. For all the years I've been working on this and all the physical and mental challenges I've endured, 2024 has been the first one where I had to worry about making money.
I took on the project of getting Potential ready for publishing, which was a mistake. Yes, I made a few extra bucks that I needed, but it was a massive project that took me months to finish. That was stupid because I didn't have the ending written. On top of that, I had other things that required too much of my time, and I got so far out of touch with Potential that it seemed impossible to get back in. That doesn't mean I won't. I will, and I have made some progress in the last two months. Now I still need at least another month doing what I've been doing to ensure I'll be able to eat and keep a roof over my head in the future, and that requires too much time and mental energy to commit to anything, but after that, I'll get the story finished. By then, I might only have two people still reading it, but I'll be the happiest mother fucker on the planet because I can start writing other things without feeling guilty for not working on Potential.
Everybody have a great holiday and a happy new year. Thank you Eric for all you do to keep the Pub open for us.

Thanks for checking in. I'm doing okay, and making some progress on making sure that evil fucker gets what's coming to him. I was stupidly hung up for months trying to move forward. It turns out that a scene I have had in mind for years needed to be killed to move past that part of the story. It's hard to kill your babies, so I tried and tried to make it work when it just didn't.
I'll keep going without it now. Maybe one day, I'll publish all the scenes that didn't make it into the story.

I sure hope you get chapter 43 posted soon. All I can think about is John getting his just rewards and Evan finally getting to be with someone the way everyone else does. I mean Deanne has Rebecca Candy has Cindy Gloria has Darlene. Yes he has allot of good sex but I feel so sorry he has no one to cozy up to like the rest.

Well, now I know why this story has never finished here! Bistander has moved all hist stories to Storiesonline and bookapay to make money from his work. He has published the final chapter on Bookapay if anyone is interested. I am not! If he would have been honest about this I probably would have supported him.

Judge much? Everyone need to make money, and it's totally a marketable story, I've read it 5+ times, and have loved it Every. Single, Time. And just and FYI, the version on Readaby is at the same exact place this version is. Confirm your facts before lashing out.
Mr Potential, keep up the good work, I very much look forward to the conclusion on this story. Cheers

If that is true, I apologize for my rash comments. I did not check to see that the stories are at the same place. I just saw more and more postings there and nothing here. If he has not abandoned this site, I for one, am very glad as I do like his writing.
If only Eric could establish a way the Authors here could link to a PayPal account for "donations".

I have been enjoying this story and would like to know how it end. Are you submitting any more chapters?

I've intentionally avoided stopping in here to see the comments because it's embarrassing to say, again, that I am still not done with chapter 43.
Please don't think it's because I don't care about you, or have given up. I haven't. I'm doing what needs to be done to keep the lights on, and that doesn't mean working to sell more books on Bookapy. If that were the case, I'd have this finished because the people over there are also waiting for the ending. I'm doing other things that require a lot of time and mental energy in the mornings.
As for the comment above, no worries. I actually have nothing to do with the Bookapy project. Once all the proofreading and editing were done last year, I turned it over to someone who gets 20% of sales to make it an ebook and get it on the site, which takes 13%
I didn't even know about stories online until recently. That site is owned by the bookapy guy, and he requires authors to post their stories there, too. That way, he makes money off of subscriptions and book sales, and it's used to promote the books on Bookapy. If I had it to do again, I wouldn't have done it. The amount of time and effort I had to put in wasn't worth the money I made.
I'm trying to get this project done, but so far I only have 3,000 words of chapter 43 written.
When I finish, I'll be proud of it, I think, but right now I hate Potential. I has taken 7 years of my life.
